SEEDS Organization Logo

SEEDS is an organization through the Ecological Society of America that promotes ecology and diversity in the field at universities. I founded a chapter where I go to school, at Cornell University. I designed this logo to incorporate both Cornell (with the famous clock tower) and ecology (the absolutely massive frog that is hanging on for dear life).

Animal Strava Art

In addition to art, I love to run. I realized that it might be possible to create art with the path I make when I run, so I decided to start a project where I would plan my routes ahead of time. I used Google maps to create the design and then go through the run virtually and write down the streets I would need to turn on to. When I finished these runs, I would upload them to Strava and see if they actually turned out how I planned them. This was super fun and a great pandemic project!

Low Rise T-Shirts

This past year, I was the president of my residence hall. At the end of the year, our hall council decided to leave the residents with a gift to remember their freshman year residence community. I created a design and a watercolor painting of our building and with money from the Residential Student Congress, we were able to order T-shirts with the design. We gave these out to the residents during the move out period!

My original design for the mural

Final Mural painted by Silvia López Chavez on Melrose High School (2021)

Melrose High School Mural

During my junior year of high school, my school hired the incredible artist & muralist, Silvia López Chavez, to paint a mural on the side of our building. I was part of the student team that designed the mural and presented it to the public when it was finished. We spent a few weeks talking about what we wanted to include in it, and then one day during one of my online zoom classes (oops), I created the design (left) which ended up being chosen to be painted. The mural was created right after we returned from COVID, so we wanted to represent resilience and community. I thought of using triangles in the 'M' because triangles are a strong shape and can handle a lot of stress. (Next time you see a bridge, notice how many triangles are worked into the design!) Silvia and the team made some changes to the design and the final product came out even better! This was such a cool project to be a part of, and I love seeing the mural whenever I'm home.
