During my summer at Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge, I spent a lot of time around birds and people who have a real appreciation for them. Eventually and with the help of the bird experts, I was able to identify the common birds as they flew overhead and it became pretty exciting to finally recognize them and know them by name. For one of my final projects, I decided to make this guide to some of the most prominant birds around the refuge. The background is a gouache landscape of one of the places on the landscape I got to run past every day. (Special thanks to Jacy Dowler and Galen June for bird images & species lists)
